Artist's Comments
Originally, I should've entitled this as "A Pirate's Life for Me," but I decided to name it after the inspiration behind the photograph. Well yes, it was partly inspired by Captain Hook (a fashion icon I look up too, seriously) but since I didn't have a hook with me, all credit goes to a woman pirate named Areballa Drummond, "The Terror of the Seas." Captain of the Bold Adventure, Drummond was said to have been the sister/ cousin/ childhood sweetheart of the pirate Edward Teach, otherwise known as Blackbeard.
